Event Organisers & Tutor (s): Amy Simister (LA Online Protection Officer) and Sarah Stokoe (LA Safeguarding Manager) plus other invited speakers.

Aimed at: Designated Safeguarding Leads, Safeguarding Officers, Governors responsible for safeguarding, ICT Coordinators, Headteacher, Teachers.

Event Description: The Online Protection Conference 2017 will be the first conference held locally for representatives from schools to come and learn about the latest risks posed to young people online. Confirmed speakers at the event are CEOP, who will be giving a national perspective around nonline protection. O2/NSPCC who will present their new resources and show live demonstrations on how to secure devices. Additionally, South Yorkshire Police will be present to focus on the
criminal convictions children face should they use the online world inappropriately. Lastly Doncaster Childrens Sexual Exploitation Team, who will be able to share knowledge on the connection between the online/offline world as well as showing schools resources they are able to take back to implement.
The conference will undoubtedly allow schools to consider what they are doing in relation to online protection and will contain vital information enhancing schools online protection safeguarding knowledge.

Outcomes: For staff to feel up to date with the latest threats children face online. To gain an understanding of the connections between offline and online child sexual exploitation. Information on the dark web  and how children and young people may be targeted. The criminal convictions children may face.
Gain an understanding of who CEOP are, their purpose and what schools can do to work in conjunction with them. Lastly for staff to witness live demonstrations of safeguarding devices and the safe apps and restrictions available to inform parents. In addition the work O2 and NSPCC are doing from a community perspective.
